Candid Photography ?

Prasenjeet Gautam

Before we proceed, we need to understand the meaning of candid photography, any useless expression, movements capture cannot be CANDID PHOTOGRAPH. Let’s understand candid photography in detail.

What is candid photography – In simple language, unplanned, no poses defined, no direction, no photography tips and tricks, captured is called candid photography. Where you are lucky enough to get the best expression, movements, and any other poses that defined unplanned shot or candid shot.

Most important requirement – I have seen lots of candid shots, but there was a scary facial expression, no attraction, no expression and there was no storytelling at all. The motive of candid photography is without whispering to anyone, you capture a better shot even letting them know your subject. That is yours winning. Pressing the shutter button unnecessarily may spoil your camera shutter, you waste your time and energy and you come back without capturing a better shot. The best way to capture candid shots, you must attend weddings, you must walk in streets and villages. Must find tourist places to shoot, exhibitions and stalls, fairs etc here you have plenty of opportunities to capture better candid shots. Visiting these places will also groom you as a better photographer and will take your photography passion to the next level.

Few Important Tips to follow

  1. Do not carry an unnecessary photography kit, choose your best lens and camera body
  2. Avoid carrying tripod
  3. Should know the art to hide from the crowd
  4. Do not put yourself at risk, follow safety tips especially in this covid situation
  5. Never shoot those who denies shooting
  6. Do not argue with anyone who may spoil your shooting day
  7. Be courteous with even strangers too
  8. Choose the best weather to shoot, avoid raining season
  9. fix to shoot, portrait, face expression etc
  10. Do not experiment with the camera setting at that time. Follow the best camera setting as per your choice or you are more comfortable with those settings. Sometimes experiments may scrap your all the shooting day.

Conclusion – While noticing so many facial expressions will help you to capture them spontaneously. Your quick action will always give you better shots.

Keep experimenting! Wish you all a happy and wonderful photography life
