Superb SUN, A great light source

Prasenjeet Gautam

The light plays a major role in the photography profession. The photographer spent their entire life understanding the indoor and outdoor light, its reflection, it is travelling, it is falling, its impression etc. In another language, I would like to mention that light is a very important tool that gives better photographs. We all know that SUN is the biggest source of light everywhere or every place. Anybody who is trying to be a better photographer then starts reading the SUN and start chasing the sunlight. Because shooting in the sunlight can give you a better understanding of the light along with better photographs.

Today I am writing this article about sunlight and how you can prepare yourself to shoot in the sunlight. It is a quite tough job but being passionate about your photography you need to have this experience.

This will help you to understand quality light and create quality light too. Let us follow a few important tips to shoot

  • Always try to shoot in the early morning, evening, after the sunset, avoid shooting in harsh light (but you try at least once)
  • Try to carry a bounce card, reflector, diffusers to control the light etc sometimes without carrying these accessories may spoil your day of the shoot.
  • Choose the location where you get good quality lights and shadows too
  • Must check SUN’s rising and sun set timing before you are moving out.
  • Never shoot the sun directly, this may be injurious to your eyes forever
  • Never leave your lenses in the car, where sunlight falls directly onto your lenses. this can spoil your lenses. Always take care of your lenses
  • Do lots of experiments with the sun, sometimes keeping your subject in the sunlight, against sunlight, in the shadows, etc keep experimenting.
  • Keep hunting the good and worst weather condition where the Sun plays a creative lighting, especially in the raining season. After the rain everything lights looks more freshening and more clean.

Conclusion – Playing with outdoor light or sunlight is more beneficial than playing with indoor light. But light conditions are quite important for photography. Both indoor and outdoor are the two sides of the one coin. IF you are looking for a better photography career then you must invest your time and energy to understand both the light condition.

Keep experimenting and Have wonderful and happy photography life to you all.
