Shooting People with Glasses

The Glasses, Goggles, Spectacles are the great fashion accessories for a fashion world, models and photography too. Glasses increase the grace of the people not only for himself or herself but according to photography point of view it changes the people’s entire outlook. Which is really a great tool for people photography. But shooting people with the glasses is also a tough job sometimes it really irritates you to shoot when you open the photographs for the post-processing and you notice lots of problems like reflections, scratches, fingerprints, strains, out of focus etc and you have no option left. This problem can scrap your entire photoshoot and your client can ask to reshoot and Reshoot is a nightmare for all the photographers. I hate to reshoot. Why I am mentioning because this really irritates because even the smallest reflections, strains are visible sharply quite big on the people’s glasses, which cannot be post-process at all.

I am sharing a few important tips to follow before you press the shutter button. Like before every photoshoot we prepare the things to shoot. Please follow these tips seriously to shoot better your model with their glasses.

Always clean the glasses– Ask your model to clean his/her glasses completely by cotton cloth, So that no strains visible at all because strains always speak about your photography. Your DSLRs cameras notice each and every smallest strain on the glasses and capture the photographs without letting you know. Better take care of the strains and avoid reshooting option.

Recheck the reflections – Reflection always appears on the glasses without letting you know and you cannot rub them. The disadvantages of the reflection is that are not editable at all. It does not matter how brilliant editor are you. before moving out for the next shot, must recheck all the photos on the big screen (laptop) for reflections. Sometimes there is a colourful reflection on the glasses and you will always scratch your head to know how it has happened when you post-process the photograph. Better watch it carefully

Focus– Never ever focus on the glass’s frame, most of the photographer does this mistake and found the photograph out of focus when post-process. In both cases, with glasses or without glasses, we must focus on the eye to avoid out of focus photographs.

Glasses marks – When shooting people with glasses and sometimes you shoot them without glasses then you must have noticed the red glasses mark on the model’s face, around eyes, nose. Pl never ever shoot them with red marks. Must ask your make-up artist to retouch the skin. Shoot when no red marks or glass marks are visible. Sometimes these marks are visible very less but never take a risk to spoil your entire shoot. Act wisely.

Multiple glasses – Never shoot your model with one glass only, ask your model to carry different colours, shapes glasses to carry because It gives vibrance to the photograph. Sometimes shooting a model with the same glass can create boringness to the viewers. Keep changing the glasses.

Conclusion– being a better photographer, this is our job to check carefully all the fashion accessories and it’s action and reaction, it impacts on the photographs etc In any case no accessories is important if spoil the photographs. Use those fashion accessories which enhance the quality, creatives of the photographs. Which hold the viewers so long and communicate with the viewers so well.
