Amazing Symmetrical Subject

Prasenjeet Gautam

One of the strong composition called Symmetry in photography. One of the toughest subject to find out where symmetry occurs or you need to have the strong photography eye to find out the symmetry composition. There are other strong composition matters in photography like Rule of thirds, leading lines etc But today we are only discussing symmetrical photographs or techniques.

Symmetry Photograph– A visual balance in the photographs, creates balanced magic in the photograph and give eye-soothing feeling to the viewers. See the posted photograph below. This gives you a positive feel to your viewers. Every corner and space of the photograph is used perfectly and This composition created a better-balanced symmetry image.

Symmetrical images can be mirroring, reflection etc. The image has one subject with two points of view for the viewer and that unique composition also introduced the photographer’s creative aspect. Sometimes images delivered double results to the viewers. see the below-posted images. There were lines of trees on the corner of fields. I explore the best point of view to capture and It has become one mine and my viewers favourite photographs.

There are so many subject element which delivers symmetrical subject, you need to explore, understand and must capture to show the hidden beauty of the symmetrical subject. Generally, the photographer needs to have a wide-angle point of view or broaden the view to capture the symmetrical subjects. Sometimes photographer fails to capture the symmetrical subject which exist in front of them and they prefer to capture close-up shots.

Exercise for the beginner – Fix one day to shoot only symmetrical subject and it can be anything like building, forest, roads, human etc or anything but must convey the sense of symmetrical. I am sure this exercise will definitely improve your photography skills. Must carry wide-angle lens which covers almost everything in the frame.

Keep experimenting! Have a wonderful and happy photography life to you all.

Photographer and blogger Prasenjeet Gautam (www.prasenjeetgautam.com) has captured above post all the images. INDIA
