Interesting! Multiple exposure photography

Prasenjeet Gautam

I hope you must have heard the word called “Multiple exposures”. Most of the Pro-Photographer used this technique for their photoshoot and film projects. In the simplest language when you club 2 or more than two images to create one better and stunning image that is called multiple exposure photography. When two or more than two images are clubbed they both create a stunning photograph effect for the viewers. In another language, it is super composition of 2,3,4 images or more images to make one more meaningful images to the viewers.

These techniques boost the message, emotion, information, humour, varieties etc in the photos and sometimes create a big platform for the viewers. I hope you must have seen Bollywood, Hollywood’s multi-starer film posters where they club entire big actors, villain, actress etc in one image to convey one strong message to the odeons. These posters attract odeons to watch films.

Let’s discuss the few important to create better double exposure images

Post Processing Skills – You must have a good sense of editing, post-processing etc. Without editing skills, no one can create double exposure images because you require to add colours, blend the images, play with the contrast to create an out of box mage and it seriously require years and years of experiences of post-processing, If having a lack of knowledge of the post-processing, unable to handle editing software then must attend a few post-processing classes. Because it is a game of clubbing, merging, adding background etc to create one double exposure images.

Game of shapes – You must have good shapes of the images, silhouettes of the images to create a more stunning double exposure. More interesting shapes will give you more eye-catchy images.

Simple Images creates magic – When a single image is not enough to leave a good impression on your viewer then clubbing of two, three simple photographs can create a fascinating image for your viewers.

Conclusion – When your project is big or you have a different requirement of creatives then double exposure is the best way to satisfy your requirement. There was a time when double exposure technology or idea was not explored and then everyone had to satisfied with single exposure photography but now the time has changed, photographer, filmmaker communicate a strong message through on single photograph by adding many images to one photograph. Here multiple exposure photography wins.

Keep experimenting! have wonderful and happy photography life to you all.
