Capture Woodland at its best

Prasenjeet Gautam

One of the easiest available subjects is trees, a group of trees, of different shapes and sizes, close to nature and easy to capture. You can capture with your mobile, beginner photography kit etc and not require too much expensive kit to shoot. It is a good beginning to shoot woodland.

Here I am going to write a few important tips to follow.

Isolation of Tree - Sometimes individual trees give a stunning shot along with the forest background. You can shoot individual trees, branches etc to add more drama to your shots. Sometimes an individual tree develops in a beautiful shape and size. Explore this.

Framing - As we all know, interesting framing creates and delivers a better story. You may capture through the branches, leaves etc to create a beautiful image. That is quite easy but you need to have a photography eye to identify that framing structure in the forest.

Composition - Sometimes we are in a hurry to capture or finish the shoot quickly but seriously this habit is not good for a photography career or passion. You need to spend extra time to add a good element to your composition. You can keep two different tree outlooks, shapes, sizes etc in the same frame to create magic in your composition.

Scouting - The most important task is scouting, where to shoot, where you can find good trees, woodland, which forest is better to shoot, whether is it safe to travel, whether is it safe to capture, How far the location, travelling time, availability of local transport, safari availability and weather conditions etc. Scout in a better way before you travel to plan to visit the forest.

Relax - Photography is meant to be a stress-relieving activity, not one that adds to your anxiety. Whenever you have the plan to visit then travel with your camera, lens and other important accessories. Never carry your problem, tension and other unnecessary thoughts which can spoil your shoot day. Make this habit of shooting with happiness, calmness etc.

Conclusion - Nature is beautiful and one day is not enough to capture its beauty, natural element etc. Keep shooting for better results.

Keep experimenting! Have wonderful and Happy photography life to you all.
