Be Prepared before shooting FLYING BIRD

Shooting bird is quite easy as comparing to flying bird, Why capturing flying bird is quite tough ? The simple reason is, NO PREPARATION at all. Most of the beginner photographer love to shoot the flying bird or Bird in Flight mode, but without preparation and preplanning etc, there all the effort goes waste when encounter with the bird in flight mode. As mentioned before that shooting without preparation especially flying bird may be a biggest failure. There are lots of preparation tips are involved, which is absolutely beneficial for shooting flying birds. Try to shoot with these mentioning tips.

This article is about few important tips about preparing yourself before the shooting.

Research – Must research bird’s availability in the national park, bird sanctuary etc like which is the peak timing of the bird’s availability or when they hunt for food or water etc, Then you must try to research about their timing in which time they fly like, like in the morning time, noon or evening. This will help you to get your perfect shoot. Timing is very important for all the photographer, lots of renowned photographer spend end number of days and they shoot bird series etc even in mating time. Perfect Timing is a blessing for all the photographer, film makers etc.

Location – Must pre-visit the location at least twice before the shoot, you must know in advance about your standing position. Must know from where the bird takes flight or is there any pond/river/lake/waterbody etc where maximum birds fly down to drink water. This will help you to shoot bird in flight mode. Search for good location to shoot flying bird.

Technical Background – You must be having strong technical knowledge of handing big lenses, heavy tripod, camera setting, gimbal head etc if you are a serious photographer and looking for adding amazing bird series in flight mode photographs into your portfolio. Otherwise skipping technical knowhow can skip your birds to shoot. Most important thing to know, you must know to control the speed, because speed plays a major role to shoot bird in flight. Remember

Safety Matters – There is always a second chance for every photographer if they miss the shot, shoot in the safest way, capture better shots but not on the ground of taking risk. Please always shoot on the tripod, gimbal head etc These two equipments always help you to take better shot. Always follow park’s rules and regulation, guidelines to protect you. There is always a second chance to shoot sometime first time does not favours you. So please ignore the failure and move on.

Conclusion – Not only camera setting is involved to take better shot beside this, your experience, your camera kit, your creative sense, your technical know how, your birds and timing knowledge always push you to shoot birds in flight mode. Always remember.
